First, the concept of Eris has is wise it is great. It feels good in your hand and I prefer the tactile navigation buttons on this phone much better than the droid. The screen is a bit small, but looks good. The Web browser is fast (not as fast as the droids), but it is not multi zooESm pinch in and out of touch gestures. On the main screen, I noticed very little delay. Admittedly I have only a few applications and had a few widgets, but it was a great experience navigating mainly by the local screen. YouTube video streaming quality was very good. Trackball is nice, very reminiscent of a BlackBerry and I love it!

According to engadget, it is said the HTC Droid Eris now has been already in stock In Verizon’s stores, and on good authority that the Droid Eris will run a hundie less at $99. I like the $99 price tag, but I dont like jumping in before seeing what kind of stats there are. Verizon Android phones info

Verizon’s on a roll with Android handsets these days, first with the heavily-advertised Motorola Droid and the reclusive / unannounced Calgary, and now with this fleeting glimpse of Android hardware progenitor HTC. Yes, it’s got 3G (or the Verizon equivalent of it), Sense UI, a trackball just barely discernible on the bottom, and from what Boy Genius Report is saying no physical keyboard whatsoever — all virtual. We’re definitely sporting a Hero vibe, but really, would it really have too hard to find a decent light source for this shot?

Uh oh! Looks like the Motorola Sholes isn’t the only Android-totin’ kid hanging around on Verizon’s block.
According to BGR, Verizon’s cracking away at an HTC-made Android handset called Desire, which they plan to launch shortly after the standard approvals and regulations are dotted and crossed. And what do you know? Both the FCC and the Wi-Fi Alliance just gave it the thumbs up.
Expect more news sooner than later.
